Lysterfield Beavers leg spinner, Chris Hill was awarded the Jack Feaver Medal adjudged Ferntree Gully & District Cricket Association’s best and fairest cricketer for season 2008/09. In front of an audience of 200 at Knox Tavern, Hill said that he was “absolutely speechless” when accepting the award. “I thought I was invited as a member of the team of the year, I just can’t believe it.” he said. Chris Hill won with 15 votes, three ahead of his nearest rival, Upper Gully’s Dave Goodger on 12 votes with Monbulk’s dual Feaver Medallist Jason Fraser third on 11 votes. Kyle Snyman finished with 9 votes.
